American Healthcare System Debate

I want to raise the topic of the American healthcare system and the debates surrounding it.

The whole world, on the one hand, knows that the American healthcare system is very bad. The American medical system has many disadvantages, and everyone knows this common example or nuance where many people would rather go to the hospital by Uber in an emergency than call an ambulance, because calling an ambulance can immediately cost around $5,000. That is why I want to raise this issue in a poll on the American healthcare system.

On the other hand, in these debates about the American healthcare system, it can be said that because of the capitalism behind it, there are actually very good medical treatments and a strong healthcare system, since money drives innovation and advanced technologies, and many people genuinely save their lives thanks to the American healthcare system. However, I may be wrong - unfortunately, I do not live in America, and this is only what I have heard.

At the same time, I have also read a lot about why the healthcare system there is considered terrible, largely because of extensive bureaucracy and what seems like internal agreements between companies that deliberately drive up the cost of treatment in American hospitals. That is why I am very interested in your opinion and would like you to vote in this survey on the American healthcare system.

Opinion on American Healthcare System and How It Really Works

I can also add that many people in America, including Barack Obama, tried to change and improve this system. Trump and Biden also addressed this issue, but unfortunately, none of them managed to fully solve the problems of the American healthcare system. However, from what I know, there is one aspect I personally like. From the outside, it may seem that money always comes first in the American healthcare system, but in reality, that is not entirely true.

As far as I understand, in most cases no one demands payment upfront from a citizen in America. You are treated first and receive the best possible medical care, especially when it is a matter of life and death, and only afterward do you receive the bill. I have also thought about the possibility that these bills are so high not necessarily because the services truly cost that much, but because many people whose lives are saved by doctors and the healthcare system are unable to pay. As a result, those who do pay may be covering not only their own costs but also part of the costs of those who cannot.

This is my personal opinion, and it may not be correct. To me, it even seems somewhat similar to how credit systems work, where interest rates are higher because some borrowers cannot repay their loans, and banks raise rates to cover that risk. If I am wrong, please correct me. I am very interested in your opinion on your healthcare system and in taking part in this discussion.
